Update: Autopsy Reveals Cause of Death for Economy Man

Craig Wood, 54, died Thursday after collapsing in Sewickley Heights Borough Park.

An autopsy performed Friday showed an Economy Borough man died of natural causes, a spokeswoman at the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office said.

Craig Wood, 54, of Economy, was found unresponsive Thursday morning in Sewickley Heights Borough Park.

Sewickley Heights Police Chief Herb Ford said a group of young cross-country runners practicing on the borough trails came upon Wood, who was alone.

No one witnessed what happened and police didn't believe Wood had been exercising because he was wearing sandals.

Police were called at 9:14 a.m. to the Allegheny Land Trust area of the park along with the Ohio Township police and fire departmentsValley Ambulance, Aleppo Volunteer Fire Department and the Big Sewickley Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Wood was pronounced dead at 9:53 a.m. Thursday, according to the medical examiner's office.
