Christmas in the Sewickley Valley: What's Open? What's Closed?

Need to run some last-minute errands? Forgot to grab someone a gift? Patch gives you a rundown of local openings and closings for the holiday.

 

 

Safran's Market – Open until 9 p.m. Friday, open until 5 p.m. Saturday and closed on Sunday. 

Giant Eagle – Open until 1 a.m. Friday, open until 5 p.m. Saturday and Closed on Sunday.

Rite Aid - Open 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday. Open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, with pharmacy hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, with pharmacy closed. 

Sewickley Public Library –  Closed Saturday and Sunday.

Sewickley Valley YMCA - Open 5:15 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and closed Christmas Day.

Post Offices – Closed Christmas Day and Monday.

State Stores - All stores closed Christmas Day and Monday, the state's official holiday observance.  

District Judge Office - Regular hours Friday. Closed Saturday and Sunday as usual, and Monday.

Port Authority of Allegheny County - Saturday schedules in effect Christmas Eve. The customer service phone line will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Holiday/Sunday schedules in effect on Christmas Day. Customer Service phone line will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Weekday schedules in effect on Monday, however, the Downtown Service Center will be closed in observance of Christmas, and the customer service phone line will be open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Quaker Valley School District – Early dismissal Friday; closed Monday through Jan. 2. School resumes Jan. 3.

Sewickley Academy – Closed today through Jan. 3. School resumes Jan. 4.

St. James School – Early dismissal today; closed Friday through Jan. 2. School resumes Jan. 3.

Local Municipal Offices - Closed Friday through Monday(including AleppoBell AcresEdgeworth, Glenfield, Glen Osborne, Haysville, LeetsdaleLeetSewickleySewickley HeightsSewickley Hills).
