Connecticut School Shooting: The President's Message, First Funerals, How to Help

President Obama told mourners at a Sunday vigil that America is not doing enough to keep its children safe.

The President's Message

After spending two hours Sunday with the families of the 26 victims of Friday's mass murder at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newton, Conn., a somber President Barack Obama told an audience at a interfaith vigil that he had brought "the love and prayers of a nation."

"Newtown, you are not alone," the President said. "As these difficult days have unfolded, you have also inspired us with stories of strength and resolve and sacrifice."

First Funerals

The President's visit comes on the eve of the first funerals for the victims. Services for Noah Posner, 6, and Jack Pinto, 6, are set for tomorrow.
