The following people were charged and scheduled for preliminary hearings Feb. 7 at District Judge Robert Ford's office in Leetsdale:
Waived
- Matthew Fargo, 25, of Washington, PA, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with an open container and driving while suspended, DUI related. Leetsdale police on Nov. 26, working in conjunction with the West Hills DUI Task Force, came across a vehicle on Route 65 that was parked halfway in the roadway, police said. Police said Fargo's license was found to be suspended and he had an open bottle of whiskey. Police said Fargo submitted to a blood-alcohol test, but the results were not reported.
- Courtney Luchette, 35, of Aleppo Township, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Sewickley police reported Luchette’s vehicle was stopped at 2 a.m. Dec. 17 after she was seen drifting on Blackburn Road. Police reported Luchette’s blood-alcohol test results were 0.197 percent, above the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit.
- Michael Rumin, 27, of Bell Acres, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and a duty of a driver of approach of emergency vehicle. Sewickley Heights police reported that an officer stopped Rumin after his car was seen speeding at 2 a.m. Nov. 5 on Fern Hollow Road. Police said Rumin didn’t immediately pull over although there were sufficient places to stop. His car eventually stopped on Backbone Road at Grouse Lane at the Bell Acres border. Police said Rumin submitted to a blood-alcohol test, but the results were not reported.
- Charles Suiborski, 69, of Sewickley, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Leetsdale police reported Suiborski’s vehicle was involved in a two-vehicle accident Nov. 16 at the intersection of Beech and Beaver streets in Leetsdale. Police reported Suiborski’s blood-alcohol test results were 0.137 percent, above the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit.
Reduced
- Larry Lee, 28, of Leetsdale, charged with possession of a controlled substance. Sewickley police reported Lee grabbed a pill bottle from inside a vehicle Nov. 7 and ran. Police later found Lee on Walnut Street with the pills, police said. Charges were reduced to disorderly conduct and Lee was ordered to pay $300 and court costs.
Postponed
- Kayla Fortuna, 25, of Leet Township, charged with simple assault. Bell Acres police reported Fortuna scratched someone’s face during a confrontation Jan. 30 at a borough home.
