Big Sewickley Creek Road Resident Seeks Missing Dog
"Betty" the beagle was last seen Wednesday, Sept. 12 near Miller's Mini Market.
A dog owner on Big Sewickley Creek Road is sorely missing her 3-year-old pooch.
Amy Fratangelo said her dog “Betty,” a 24-pound beagle, was last seen a week ago on Sept. 12 in the area of Miller’s Mini Mart.
Betty got out of the back door while Fratangelo hooked her other dog up to a line. She said Betty walked out, took a couple seconds to look around then ran off about 10 p.m. that night. After chasing the dog around for a bit, Fratangelo’s flashlight died.
“I last heard her a little after midnight. I have no idea what direction she went,” said Fratangelo, who has been passing out fliers to neighbors. She also left a post on Craigslist.
Fratangelo lives in Economy about a mile from Franklin Park and her backyard abuts Bell Acres. She describes the dog as tri-colored, wearing a pink collar with a bone-shaped tag. The tag has Betty’s name on the front and two phone numbers on the back. Betty also wore a harness from an earlier walk and is quite social, she said.
“I’ve had her since she was a puppy, since November of 2009, when she was about 10 weeks old,” Fratangelo said.
Fratangelo is asking anyone who spots Betty to call 412-491-1299.
