A new chapter will be celebrated today in Esmark Inc.'s history, with a formal groundbreaking at the company's future global headquarters in Edgeworth.
The groundbreaking will begin at 2 p.m. on Hazel Lane, the site of the new Esmark Center, a $9 million state-of-the-art building. The headquarters off Route 65 will house an estimated 25 Esmark employees, and the remaining office space will be available for lease.
James Bouchard, Esmark's founder and chief executive officer, will welcome guests, including federal, state and local officials.
Development plans include a three-story, 39,000-square foot structure with underground parking, a rooftop patio and heated storage, according to a news release. Construction is expected to be completed in late 2012.
