Motorists hoping to pump gas earlier Wednesday at the BP in Edgeworth were out of luck.

A power outage knocked out electricity and gas pump operations to the store at 209 Ohio River Boulevard.

Even after power was restored, yellow caution tape cordoned off the entrances Wednesday afternoon as store employees continued working to get the gas pumps back on. An employee at the store said the gas pumps were back in service as of Wednesday evening. 

Edgeworth police said the outage didn’t affect any other businesses or residential customers in the area.

Duquesne Light Co. spokesman Joey Vallarian couldn't comment on BP in particular, but said there were no widespread outages reported in the area.
