QV Hockey Team at UPMC Outdoor Game
When/Where: 6:30 p.m. Friday at North Park Ice Rink
Why Go: The Quaker Valley Ice Hockey will take on Kittanning High School in this year’s UPMC outdoor charity high school game.
Admission: $5 in advance; $7 at the game. Souvenir shirts are $15 at the game, which benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
When/Where: 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday at the O’Reilly Theater, Pittsburgh Public Theater’s home in the heart of the Cultural District.
Why Go: See history come alive at this Tony-winning "Best Musical." The show features Lou Valenzi, Quaker Valley choir teacher and musical director.
Admission: $29 to $60. Students and age 26 and younger $15.75 with valid ID. Family Fun Packs, with two student and two adult tickets, are available for $100. For tickets call 412-316-1600 or visit ppt.org
When/Where: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at the Old Economy Village Visitor's Center, 270 16th St., in Ambridge.
Why Go: Learn about Harmonist woodworkers when Quaker Valley sophomore Michael Falcone, as part of a school project, hosts an opening reception for the exhibit. The exhibit , which will be on display through April.
Admission: Free. All are invited.
When/Where: 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at Fern Hollow Nature Center.
Why Go: Fern Hollow Nature Center is hosting its first Burns Supper, a celebration of the life and works of poet Robert Burns. Event includes appetizers, dinner, whiskey sampling, cheese sampling and music.

When/Where: 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at Sewickley Academy.
Why Go: Sewickley Academy’s annual dinner promotes awareness of different cultures and countries around the world. Dinner begins at 4:30 pm in the Middle and Senior School cafeteria. Cultural performances begin at 6 p.m. in Rea Auditorium.
