When/Where: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 in Wolcott Park.
Why Go: Bring your four-legged friend to have its photo taken with Santa while enjoying carriage rides and the tunes of the Allegheny Brass Band in the village.
Admission: Free.
When/Where: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Big Sewickley Creek Fire Hall in Bell Acres.
Why Go: Meet Santa for lunch and have your picture taken with him, or on a fire truck. Be sure to bring a camera.
Admission: $5 for adults; $3 for 16 and under; free for 2 and under, with paying adult.
When/Where: Begins at 4:40 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, and repeats every 20 minutes until the last presentation at 7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1320 Church St., Ambridge.
Why Go: St. John's Lutheran Church will present a live outdoor Nativity followed by a service of carols and lessons at 7:30 p.m. in the church. Tours of the church and the dining room, serving authentic German food and baked goods, will be open from 2 to 7:30 p.m. St. John’s is the historic Harmonist church across from Old Economy Village.
Admission: Free.
4. Pennsylvania's Amazing Owls
When/Where: 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Fern Hollow Nature Center, Sewickley Heights.
Why Go: Bob Van NewKirk, a volunteer with the Audubon Society of Western PA, will present this 90-minute interactive program using props and posters. Meet some live owls visiting from WildBird Recovery (Valencia, PA). For children 6 and up. Registration required.
Admission: $7 members/$10 non-members
When/Where: 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Osborne Elementary School, 1414 Beaver Road.
Why Go: Experience a family-oriented evening of entertainment and activities hosted by Northway Sewickley including drama, family photos, giant inflatables, and lots of holiday activities.
Admission: Free.
