1. NATURAL OUTDOOR CLASSROOM PLAY-DAY
When/Where: 2 to 4 p.m. today, Fern Hollow Nature Center, Sewickley Heights.
Why Go:Take the children for one last summer play-date at the first certified “nature play” area in Pennsylvania. The classroom gives youngsters a chance to explore nature. The classroom is geared for children 4-8 years old, but all are welcome.

2. SHIVER ME TIMBERS
When/Where: 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sewickley Public Library.
Why Go: Take the whole family to the library for a fun-filled morning of constructing pirate-themed crafts, including pirate ships (built to scale, of course).

3. ALFRESCO ITALIAN GARDEN DINNER
When/Where: 7 p.m. Friday, Fern Hollow, Sewickley Heights.
Why Go: Enjoy a traditional Italian dinner, which includes everything from appetizers to desserts, on the patio. The event is BYOB and will benefit the educations programs at Fern Hollow.

4. JOURNEY
When/Where:7 p.m. Saturday at First Niagara Pavilion, Burgettstown.
Why Go:Sing-a-long with the band to favorite hits such as “Don’t Stop Believin” and “Any Way You Want It.” Special guests include Foreigner and Night Ranger.

5. MOON TOWNSHIP VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT CAR CRUISE
When/Where: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Moon Park.
Why Go: Spend the afternoon walking around the park and checking out quite a few classic cars.
