Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 13, the day we honor Mom for all the amazing things she does, from the world’s greatest PB&J to always keeping you stocked with fresh, clean undies.
Do you have a plan to really “wow” the mom in your life?
Don’t panic. Patch looked to our Readers' Choice winners to find some of the best Mom-pleasing ideas that you can totally handle in two days.
Mother's Day Brunch at Cafe Des Amis
Give mom a break and bring her to Cafe des Amis for Mother's Day brunch. Seating times are 11 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Sunday.
The menu includes: Herb Roasted Free Range Chicken, Seafood Newburg with Rice, Pork and Sauerkraut, Fresh Roasted Vegetable Medley, Smashed Red Skin Potato, Tri-Color Tomato Salad, Field Green Salad, Fresh Fruit Salad, Bread and Butter, and Assorted Desserts. $22.95 per person plus tax.
Membership to Curves Leetsdale/Sewickley
What better way to show mom you love and care about her than a gift that promotes her health and wellbeing?
Throughout the month, Curves is offering a bargain $30 initiation fee and 30 days free. If you'd rather opt for the free 30 days, you can go that route and pay a higher initiation fee. Clothing items, pedometers, and health and wellness items are also sold at the fitness center.
Curves is open until 7:30 Friday or from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. If you just can't make it in person to 24 Beaver St., call 724-266-3414 to arrange a membership over the phone.
Buy a Bouquet from Cuttings
Cuttings won't tsk tsk you for calling in that last minute order to give mom a fresh bunch. But I wouldn't wait any longer, especially if you're counting on a special delivery outside the area.
The home and garden shop is taking orders until about 1 p.m. Saturday, but that also depends on demand. Call 412-741-7227 to order now.
Get a Gift Certificate
Mom deserves to be treated to a special Mother's Day meal, but maybe she'd rather wine and dine on another night.
One thing's for sure. If the overwhelmingly positive reviews each of these places received from our Readers' Choice is any indication, mom will no doubt be pleased with whatever you choose.
