Here is Bunde's statement announcing the reasons for his candidacy:

"I am running for School Board as I believe that a strong, vibrant community must have a strong school district.

I am a firm believer in education and believe that providing an excellent school district is essential to allowing our children to have a great foundation for success in their futures.

Education is crucial to success in our society today and our children deserve the opportunity to achieve all that can be done through a strong school system.

I realize that there are numerous issues facing the district and that a balance between doing what is best for the schools and what is best for the community must be achieved.

Fiscal issues are more pertinent now than at any other time due to the state of the economy.

I hope to be able to bring a balanced decision making approach to the board and to strive to have the district continue to be one of the best in Pennsylvania."
