Leetsdale Police Charge Two in Scrap Metal Thefts

Police say the pair took nearly $1,000 in scrap.

Leetsdale police recently charged an Ambridge pair with theft and receiving stolen property after catching them taking scrap metal worth nearly $1,000.

Charges were filed Jan. 2 against Adam Lattieri, 30, of Ambridge, and Michelle L. Stead, 33, of Ambridge.

Police were called Nov. 1 for a burglary in progress and arrived at 114 Ohio River Boulevard to find Lattieri and Stead on the property belonging to William Cymbalak.

According to a criminal complaint, Lattieri and Stead were arrested and taken to the Leetsdale police station. They admitted to being at the business for the last three days and taking $857 worth of scrap from what they said they thought was an abandoned property, police said.  Police said Lattieri and Stead also admitted to taking the items to Skip’s Recycling in Conway.

Police were able to get photos of Stead selling scrap metal and tools.
