Moon Police Charge Aleppo Man with Vehicle Thefts

Police said Craig Moore stole several items, including GPS devices, DVDs and tools.

Moon Police said an Aleppo Township man admitted to entering several unlocked vehicles last week in Moon. 

Craig Anthony Moore, 27, is charged with four counts of theft from a motor vehicle and four counts of nighttime loitering or prowling in connection with Wednesday's thefts. 

Moore, whom Ohio Township Police also charged with stealing a vehicle, admitted to police on Friday that he entered at least 10 vehicles near Scottsdale Drive and Spring Run Road Extension.

Police have recovered several items in his home that residents had reported stolen, including GPS devices, DVDs and tools. 

Moore told police that he stole a car Wednesday in Aleppo Township after getting into an argument with his girlfriend. He said he drove the car to Moon Township, where he walked around a residential plan, taking items from unlocked vehicles.

Police said Moore previously worked for a Moon Township landscaping company and "had knowledge of the Moon Township area." 

Authorities in Ohio Township have charged him with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, access device fraud, giving false identification to law enforcement and theft from a motor vehicle, according to court records. 

Moore is scheduled to appear Feb. 21 in Coraopolis District Court for a preliminary hearing.
