Motorist Treated at Hospital After Sewickley Car Crash

Sewickley police said the crash happened on Route 65 at Broad Street.

An Ambridge woman was taken by ambulance to Heritage Valley Sewickley hospital earlier today after a two-vehicle crash on Route 65 in Sewickley.

Sewickley police said Chelsey L. Happ complained of back and neck injuries after her car collided with a sport utility vehicle driven by Joshua Mamaeff of Homestead.

Police reported no injuries for Mamaeff or his wife and child, who were passengers in the SUV at the time of the crash.

Police said the crash happened shortly before 10 a.m. when Happ’s southbound vehicle on 65, mistook a green left turn light for a green light at Route 65 and Broad Street.

She proceeded to turn onto Broad Street and collided with the Mamaeff’s vehicle, police said.

Police cited Happ with failing to yield to oncoming traffic.
