Orlando Scalercio
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 Wednesday at Copeland's Sewickley with prayer at 9:30 a.m. Thursday followed by 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. James Church.
Orlando Scalercio, age 92, of Crescent Township, formerly a long-time resident of Sewickley, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Caring Heights.
He was born in Anita, PA on April 20, 1919 to the late Thomas and Thomasina (Domineco) Scalercio. Beloved husband for 64 years to Malina (Veshio) Scalercio; loving father of Thomas Scalercio (Arlene) of Crescent, Richard Scalercio (Susie) of TX and Donna Grago (Bob) of Leetsdale; cherished grandfather of Megan & Matthew Scalercio, Shellyn Shoenthal (Dan), Steven Scalercio, Michelle Domenick (Mike), Christine Douglas (Jon) and Kelly Grago; proud great grandfather of Jake and A.J.; brother of Violet Corso of Sewickley, Mary Head of Indiana and the late Joseph, William and Carl Scalercio; also many loving nieces and nephews.
Orlando was a member of St. James Church and their 55+ club, a life-time member of Sewickley VFW; a former Aleppo Township Volunteer Fireman.
He was retired from Pittsburgh Forgings with 42 years of service. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He enjoyed keeping his lawn manicured and pampering his wife.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. The family wished to thank Caring Heights for their tender loving care and Valley Care in Ambridge for the musical therapy especially “the polka.”
Visitation Wednesday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland's Sewickley, 702 Beaver St. with prayer on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at St. James Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery with military honors.

Orlando was a "special" man who brought happiness to a lot of people. When he attended Valley Care Adult Day Services he always had a smile and encouraged others. He will be greatly missed. His family is to be commended for their loving, caring ways with him. It was very evident that he was loved.
