The body of a 34-year-old Pittsburgh man was pulled from the Ohio River near Glenfield about 2 p.m. Sunday, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Steven Zambory. The cause of death has not been determined yet. 

State police were called about 1:50 p.m. when two fishermen discovered the body floating under the Interstate 79 bridge to Neville Island. Glenfield Borough does not have its own police department; the state police serve the area.

Emsworth Volunteer Fire Co. used its equipment to pull the body to shore. The state police forensic services unit took photos of the body for its investigation, police said.

Property owner Rich Schirnhofer said he happened to be on the property opening the front gates when he saw an ambulance going by. He said the property on Dawson Avenue offers the easiest access to the river by way of a small dirt road.

Schirnhofer said he leases the property for his business, Schirnhofer Welding & Fabricating. He said it was a marina previously.

About 4:45 p.m. the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office, Emsworth Volunteer Fire Co. and the state police forensic services unit left the property.

Also at the scene were Ohio Township Police and the Valley Ambulance Authority.
