Quaker Valley Purchases Leetsdale Property Near High School

School officials say the property will help alleviate growing concerns over traffic flow.

The Quaker Valley School Board Tuesday night approved the $250,000 purchase of a Beaver Street property in Leetsdale

According to the district, the purchase of property at 704 Beaver St. reflects measures the board has been considering in recent years to alleviate growing concerns over traffic flow and student safety around the high school.

The high school at 625 Beaver St. has always had traffic issues due its “land-locked” location, district officials said.

“This purchase is part of a future plan to provide a separate pickup and drop-off area for students, as well as improve entrance and exit traffic patterns for emergency vehicles,” Superintendent Joseph Clapper said in a news release.
