Quaker Valley Boys Soccer Wins WPIAL Championship

The boys team defeats Mars, 2-1, in the WPIAL Class AA match Saturday.

The  Quaker Valley boys' soccer team defeated Mars in overtime Saturday to clinch the WPIAL Class AA crown.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the boys scored with 4.2 seconds left in the second overtime to defeat Mars, 2-1 at Chartiers Valley High School.

With time ticking down, the No. 4 seed Quakers made one last rush down the field and moved the ball into the box, the Post-Gazette reported. Adam Richert controlled the ball and lobbed a shot from about 12 yards away into the goal to avoid moving to a shootout.

Congratulations Quakers!

Congratulations guys! Would have loved to see someone from the Patch actually go to the game and provide an article/photos instead of stating a report from another news source.
