Quaker Valley School Board Re-Appoints President, Vice President
The school board had its annual reorganization meeting at Edgeworth Elementary.
Quaker Valley School Board held its annual reorganization meeting Tuesday and chose to re-elect the same president and vice president for one-year terms.
The board unanimously re-elected President Jack Norris and Vice President Sarah Heres, who were the only nominees. Norris has served on the board eight years and Heres for five years.
Superintendent Joseph Clapper presented Norris with a certificate of appreciation from the Pennsylvania School Boards Association for his years of service. PSBA is recognizing school directors statewide for years of service ranging from eight to 40 years.
"It doesn't seem that long," Norris said, after receiving his certificate.
“Quaker Valley School District is incredibly fortunate to have strong business and community leaders among its board members,” Clapper said in a news release. “Our district’s continued success is due in large part its high quality school board, which has established high standards and expectations for all.”
The board also designated certain officers and administrators the authority to sign checks.
Meetings will continue to take place at 7 p.m. in the community room at the Edgeworth Elementary School. The school board typically meets the second, third and fourth Tuesdays of the month. No additional meetings are scheduled for December.
