Sewickley Gallery Walk Carries On Despite the Weather

Art and music lovers brave Friday's rainy weather to attend the two-day festival, which continues from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

While festivalgoers may have preferred a warm autumn evening, Friday's wet weather wasn't enough to deter some from attending the first day of the .

As many huddled indoors surrounded by art exhibits, others stayed outside enjoying the musical acts on one of three stages.

The scheduled performers were good sports in spite of the on-and-off-again drizzle. Under a white tent, Bailey Park played to the audience with a rendition of "Summer Breeze."

Tim Hadfield, director of the Sewickley Arts Initiative, said he believed the weather affected Friday's turnout. Other performers included , Broken Fences, Shawna Roxanne and the Terrance Vaughn Trio.

Visitors still have a chance to check out the art and musical acts today. The festival continues from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Exhibits representing more than 30 artists are located throughout the business district on or adjacent to Broad and Beaver streets.

From exhibits in galleries and boutiques to vacant storefronts, there is plenty of art to see as you stroll through town. Today's musical performances will take place at Wolcott Park.
