The Sewickley Public Library hosted the 39th annual Allegheny County Chess Tournament Saturday, March 3, for children in kindergarten through eighth grades.

Tournaments are broken into two divisions: the junior division for children in kindergarten through fourth grade, and the senior division for children in fifth through eighth grades.

The following children were declared winners: 

• 1st Place Junior
  Blaise Burns

• 2nd Place Junior
  Venkat Daita

• 1st Place Senior
  Sterling Myers

• 2nd Place Senior
  Colin Hill

The countywide tournament is from 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on March 31 at Brentwood Library.
