Unique Boutique Returns for 12th Annual Shopping Benefit
The Unique Boutique on Saturday, Nov. 10 will feature 50 vendors at the Edgeworth Club. Proceeds support renovations to the Heritage Valley Sewickley hospital surgical waiting area.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 for shopping or $35 each for admission and lunch. The buffet lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and reservations are required.
Terri Tunick, event coordinator, said 50 vendors will be featured representing a variety of products, including adult and children clothing, gourmet food, home and holiday decor and jewelry and accessories.
Six local artisans and business owners featured at the event, include: Robin and Ding Hays of Party Ants, Carolyn Korb of Pursenalities, Caroline Conlan of Exfuze, Julie Jubeck of Ann Radcliff's Designs, Kristen Finamore of Kritta Company and Jessica Wilson Graves.
Other vendors are located throughout the Pittsburgh region and beyond.
"(Unique Boutique) is unique because it has some products that are nationally known and other specially-crafted products that are not your everyday craft fare," said Tunick, also a board member of the Heritage Valley Sewickley Foundation.
All proceeds will be donated toward the Heritage Valley Sewickley hospital surgical waiting area renovations, which begain in May with architectural drawings. More than 6,000 surgical cases are performed at Heritage Valley Sewickley each year.
Plans are to relocate the area to a more convenient patient-centered location and make it more comfortable for visitors as they await information regarding their family members or a significant other having surgical procedures. Improvements will include additional physician-family conference rooms to allow for private conversations, wi-fi access, and updated and more comfortable furnishings. Construction is slated to begin in 2013.
"We are supporting the hospital and we're supporting small business people, which I like," Tunick said.
