Whiz Kids: Grace, Marin and Kassidy

The St. James students earn figure skating medals at Robert Morris University.

Whiz Kids:Marin Auth, Grace Bulera and Kassidy Burke

Key to Awesomeness: Skaters Marin Auth (seventh grade), Grace Bulera (second grade) and Kassidy Burke (fourth grade) each earned medals in their respective categories at the annual "Skate Pittsburgh Figure Skating Competition" Sept. 24-25 at Robert Morris University Island Sports Center.

Marin Auth competed at the pre-juvenile level and earned a first-place gold medal in compulsory moves and a second-place silver medal in spins. 

Grace Bulera competed at the basic elements level, earning a second-place silver medal for elements to music along with a third-place bronze medal for elements.

Kassidy Burke competed at the freestyle level and earned a first-place gold medal award for freestyle moves and a second-place silver medal in jumps at the beginner level. 

The girls are coached by Jennie Vicinie and call RMU Island Sports Center their home ice.  Kassidy and Grace also belong to the RMU Figure Skating Academy/Synchronized Skating Program, where Kassidy skates for the Steel City Blades Competitive Team and Grace skates for the Little Blades Team

All three of the girls will be skating in several programs for the "Enchanted Christmas" Holiday Spectacular Skate Show scheduled for 1 p.m. Dec. 4 at RMU.
