Sewickley Academy's 2nd Annual Zumbathon
Sewickley Academy, 315 Academy Ave, Sewickley, PA | Get Directions »
FREE
On Saturday, April 28, from 12-2 pm, in the Alumni Gym, Sewickley Academy will host the second annual Zumbathon to support the Kurt Cerny Memorial Fund for Students.
The Zumbathon is open to the public (for ages 12+). Light refreshments will be provided, but be sure to bring water, a towel, and maybe a small snack. Clothing suitable for exercise should be worn, as well as comfortable tennis shoes.
Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance fitness program designed to provide an incredible workout as well as a fun time for all participants. Multiple instructors will lead participants through easy-to-follow, high energy routines.
Sewickley Academy’s Zumbathon is being held in an effort to raise money for the Kurt Cerny Memorial Fund for Students. Mr. Cerny, who passed away in January 2011, was a beloved member of the Sewickley Academy community who brought joy to all who knew him. His scholarship fund provides assistance to Academy students who are recognized as aspiring performing artists and who would benefit from educational opportunities to realize his or her full potential. All donations will be collected at the door and will go directly to Kurt’s fund.

More About Sewickley Academy
Sewickley Academy is the oldest independent day school in the Pittsburgh area with origins dating back to 1838. Originally an academy for boys, the school was reorganized in the 1880s for boys and girls. Approximately half of the students live in the Sewickley Valley area, but students from more than 50 school districts, including several in eastern Ohio and northern West Virginia, now attend Sewickley Academy, where the average classroom size is 15 students. The culturally diverse campus has many amenities, including two greenhouses, a media center, two libraries, a fully equipped fitness center, a black-box theater, auditorium and art gallery.
