Those of you looking to try a new or trendy dining experience have an excuse to book a reservation.Pittsburgh Restaurant Week begins on Monday. 

Here are five things diners need to know:

1. Pittsburgh Restaurant Week runs from Monday, Aug. 12 through Sunday, Aug. 18.

2. The mission of Pittsburgh Restaurant Week is to "highlight the wide-ranging dining options that Pittsburgh has to offer and bring individuals from surrounding boroughs or suburbs to the city to walk the streets and enjoy a meal at a special discounted price."

3. Diners can normally choose from discounted three-course fixed-price meals or specials for $20.13 at the participating restaurants.

4. There are 69 restaurants participating in the great Pittsburgh area. Some local restaurants that are participating including Vivo KitchenSkinny Pete's KitchenBOhem BistroBurgh'ersRiver City GrillSiBA Cucina and TamariClick here to see the full list and the deals each restaurants is offering.
