Are You Ready? 5 Places to Celebrate Oktoberfest

Mark your calendars and get ready. These annual Oktoberfest celebrations are right around the corner.

St. James Parish Oktoberfest

St. James Catholic Parish in Sewickley along with the Knights of Columbus will celebrate Oktoberfest from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4. The menu includes German Potato Salad, Hot Dogs, Pork and Beans, Applesauce, German Chocolate Cake, Macaroni and Cheese, Sauerkraut and Kielbasa.

Cost is $10 for adults, children to eighth grade $3, Youth eighth grade to 12th grade $5. Drinks included. There will be music and entertainment including children's games and tractor rides.

Second Annual Sewickley Oktoberfest

Tickets are on sale now for the second annual Sewickley Oktoberfest, presented by Village Green Partners and the Sharp Edge Bistro.

The two day event includes three sessions from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, Oct 4 and Saturday, Oct. 5 with a new kids session from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday Oct. 5.

The Division Street parking lot in Sewickley will transform into a German beer garden with a large tent, food, and beer. Great Lakes Brewing Company will be providing kegs that will be used in a keg tapping ceremony.

Live music includes Autobahn Band & The Barons, Mädel Jäger (formerly known as Gaudi Buam), and Grammy-nominated polka group The Johnny Koenig Band.

The Kids’ Oktoberfest includes costume contests, pretzel toss, and in its second year, the Dachshund Dash with first, second and third place prizes. 


Fall Harvest Festival at Reilly's

Every October weekend, Reilly's Harvest Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

The fun includes hayrides to the great pumpkin patch where you'll find all sizes of pumpkins for your picking pleasure, the New Boo Barn with added excitement, the Cornstalk maze, Marshmallow roast, Balloon Typhoon, Pedal Go Carts, and more.

No reservations needed. Cost is $7 per person. 

Oktoberfest at Old Economy Village

Dust off your lederhosen and drindls. Join Old Economy Village for an Oktoberfest fundraiser with all things German.

Enjoy a selection of German beer and traditional foods. Entertainment provided by Burke's Bavarian Band.

Oktoberfest at Scott Park

The 13th annual Oktoberfest is Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine in Scott Park, One Park Drive, Carnegie.

The annual festival includes with live entertainment, food, crafts, pony rides, petting zoo, train rides, pumpkin painting, and hayrides.
