Update: Attempted Child Luring Reported in Leetsdale

Police are investigating the report.

 are looking for a tan van after receiving a report Thursday of an attempted child luring in the borough.

Police received a report Thursday afternoon of an older black male in his late 40s or early 50s who approached a 14-year-old girl in his vehicle while she was walking between and Henle Park.

Police said the man attempted to get the girl to come to him and get in his van at which point she and her friend ran to .

Once at the park, police said girl and her friend made contact with the workers in the summer parks program, but they did not see the van again at that time.

The van is described as a newer model tan vehicle with tinted windows. Police said the girl also saw another person in the van, but had no description of that individual.

Police said the child's parent reported the incident at 2 p.m., hours after it was said to have taken place. 

Area police were alerted, including departments in Beaver County and Moon Township.

Police from the area assisted in searching Route 65 and Beaver Street, as well as local parks, for a van matching the description but with negative results.  The investigation continues.
