Easter Weekend Services in Sewickley

Patch helps you worship and celebrate with a list of Holy Week services.

Patch brings you a list of  Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday services planned for the Sewickley area.

  • Good Friday service begins at 1:30 p.m. today at  at 444 Glenfield Road in Sewickley. The church will remain open until 7:30 p.m. tonight. An Easter Vigil begins at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the church parking lot. Easter Sunday services take place at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. For more information call 412-741-6460.
  • At  Catholic Church, 200 Walnut St., Good Friday services begin at noon with the Seven Last Words Cantata. At 1:30 p.m. is the Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion. Easter Vigil takes place at 8:30 p.m.
  • The blessing of the Easter baskets begins at noon on Saturday. Sunday’s Easter Masses will be celebrated at 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
  •  Good Samaritan Parish in Ambridge will hold its Good Friday services beginning with morning prayer at 9 a.m. today and Passion services at 2 p.m. today.  The Stations of the Cross begin at 7 p.m. A pierogi sale takes place from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. today, take outs only. Advanced orders will be accepted starting at 6 a.m. today at 724-266-6010.
  • Saturday morning prayer begins at 9 a.m., followed by blessing of the baskets at noon and Eatser Vigil at 8:30 p.m. Easter Sunday Masses are at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon. 
  • As part of Holy Week, Grace Church at 325 Church Lane in Edgeworth will have Good Friday services at noon today and Easter Vigil at 8 p.m. Saturday. Easter services are planned for 10 a.m. Sunday. Infant and toddler care will be provided from 9 a.m. to noon.
  • The Presbyterian Church, 414 Grant St., Sewickley, will observe Good Friday at 10 a.m. with a family service followed by an Easter Egg party. At 7:30 p.m., the traditional Tenebrae service takes place in the sanctuary. There are four services available on Easter from 9:50 to 10:50 a.m.
  •  405 Frederick Ave., will observe Good Friday from noon to 3 p.m., with services that take place during the hours Jesus suffered on the cross. The service will feature short messages on Christ's seven last words, a choral presentation of Dubois's "Seven Last Words of Christ," congregational hymns and prayer. Attend for the full three hours or come when you can and stay as long as you can. No childcare available with a 7:30 p.m. service. Easter Eve services take place at 6 p.m. Saturday in Grace Commons. The service is a casual and creative worship complete with a praise band. The Easter message includes informal Communion. Traditional Easter services take place at 7:45 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Sunday in the sanctuary and a contemporary Easter service begins at 11:15 a.m. Sunday in Grace Commons.
  • Northway Church will have Good Friday services at 7 p.m. tonight, which will include contemplative reflection on Christ’s sacrifice. Easter services will take place at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday. Kidz Church will be available at all services for children in fifth grade and younger. Services will take place at Osborne Elementary School, 1414 Beaver Road.
  • will have Easter Services beginning with contemporary worship at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, followed by Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and traditional worship at 10:45 a.m.
