Everything You Need to Know About Sewickley's Memorial Day Celebration

The 120th annual parade will be followed by a program at Wolcott Park and a service at the Sewickley Cemetery.

Sewickley's 120th annual parade begins at 10 a.m. today.

The parade route starts at Frederick Avenue and Broad Street, continues onto Thorn Street, to Grant Street and onto Beaver Street before ending at Thorn and Chestnut streets.

Roads on the parade route will be closed approximately one hour before the parade begins. No parking will be permitted on streets along the parade route from 6 a.m. to noon. Port Authority buses will be detoured during the parade.

Parade participants include local police and firefighters, politicians, veterans groups, scouting troops, and the Quaker Valley marching band.

Be sure to also watch the Air Force Reserve Command as it flies over in a salute to the parade.

A memorial service will take place in Wolcott Park after the parade.

Immediately following the Wolcott Park program will be a ceremony at the Sewickley Cemetery.  Bus transportation from Wolcott Park to the cemetery is available and is being provided by the  School District. 

Memorial Day is a federal holiday, so courts, government offices and banks are closed today.
