Five Things You Need to Know This Week
Patch gives you a rundown of what's going on around the community.
1. Mardi Gras Party
Bring Bourbon Street to Locust Place. According to Explore Sewickley, Sidelines Beer House is planning a Fat Tuesday celebration on Feb. 12 that includes New Orleans-style food and Abita brewskies on special.
2. Sewickley Chocolate Walk
Tickets are on sale for the inaugural Sewickley Chocolate Walk, which runs from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13. Included on the walk are 15 participating businesses. Tickets are available for $5 at ShowClix.com. Walkers registering at Wolcott Park will receive a map detailing the stops. Participants can turn in their signed maps at the end to be entered into a randomly drawn raffle
3. Paczki Day
Paczki Day kicks off from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 at Good Samaritan Parish at Eighth and Melrose Avenue in Ambridge. The plain sugared home made donuts can be ordered in advance by calling 724-266-6010 for the one-day sale. Walk-ins are allowed too, but in previous years, the treats have sold out before 2 p.m., so the parish highly recommends ordering in advance. Donation is $4.50 for half dozen or $8 for a dozen.
