Why Go: Blass played for the Pirates from 1960 to 1974 including pitching in the 1971 World Series and will be signing copies of his new book, “A Pirate for Life,” and discussing his career with the team. Come to a hot dog party hosted by the Bookshop, and . 

Admission: Free.

 

When/Where: 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the .

Why Go: The Zerona laser has been featured on Dr. Oz and The Doctors, and now you can learn more about it in Sewickley as resented by Laser Body Shaping. Complimentary appetizers and wine provided by the Sewickley Café. 

Admission: Free. 

 

Parrots of the Caribbean at the Aviary

When/Where: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh. Parrots of the Caribbean runs daily at noon and 2:30 p.m.
 

Why Go: Travel the seven seas, or the Three Rivers, and meet a flock of friendly pirate parrots. There is a treasure waiting for you at the National Aviary.

Admission: $13 adult/ $11 child/ $12 seniors.  

 

Pat McEvoy Benefit Concert

When/Where: 11 a.m. to 2 a.m Saturday at the Venue at Harmony Ridge in Ambridge. 

Why Go: Pat is a local bassist who is in need of a liver transplant. This will be an all day show consisting of local bands and musicians donating their time and talents. Click here for the line up.

Admission: $5 cover.

 

'Build a Moving Truck' Kids Workshop 

When/Where: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Home Depot, North Fayette. 

Why Go: The workshops offer useful projects to kids including the creation of toolboxes, fire trucks and mail organizers, as well as more educational projects that teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, plus a sense of accomplishment. 

Admission: Free.

 

When/Where: Between 9:30 a.m. and noon Saturday, those interested in taking the tour can come to the Moon Township Municipal Building on Beaver Grade Road. 

Why Go:  Tour some of Moon Township's most impeccable gardens to catch a glimpse of some of the community's best groomed. 

Admission: purchase a ticket and map at the township building for the self-guided driving tour throughout Moon.
