Get Out: Family Fishing, Blue Grass or Autism Walk

When/Where: 7:30 p.m. Friday at Moon Park.

Why Go: Take the family out to enjoy Family Fun Night, which features concerts, movies and family entertainment at Moon Park in Moon Township.

Family Fishing at Soggy Bottom Lake

When/Where: 6 p.m. Saturday at Fern Hollow Nature Center, Sewickley Heights.

Why Go: Meet at the nature center then carpool to Soggy Bottom Lake, a private residence on Fern Hollow Road, to fish for blue gills, bass, carp and sunfish. Fern Hollow will provide all of the necessary equipment thanks to a grant from the state Fish and Boat Commission.

Admission: $15 per fisherman and $5 for an accompany adult. Members receive a $5 discount for anyone signed up to fish and the accompany adult is admitted free. Pre-registration is required to participate in this program, call 412-741-6136 or email fhnc@verizon.net to register.

 

When/Where: 8 a.m. Saturday at Heinz Field.

Why Go: Join Autism Speaks as they walk to change the future for all who struggle with autism.

Blue Grass Day at Three Rivers Arts Festival

When/Where: 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Dollar Bank Stage, Three Rivers Arts Festival, downtown Pittsburgh. 

Why Go: Enjoy the soaring harmonies of the Mon River Ramblers (2-3:30 p.m.), and music by the Greensky Bluegrass (5-6 p.m.), Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band (6:30-7:30 p.m.) and Del McCoury Band (8-9:30 p.m.)

First Secret Gardens of Ambridge Tour

When/Where: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Ambridge.

Why Go: Check out five lovely gardens and get a few fresh ideas. Meet at 621 Maplewood Ave., home of the first "Good Neighbor Award" winner. Light refreshments will served.
