Heritage Valley Celebrates New Medical Neighborhood in Edgeworth

Ribbon cutting and open house welcomes the new Heritage Valley Edgeworth medical neighborhood, now open for patients.

Heritage Valley Health System held an open house and ribbon cutting on Tuesday to officially welcome its newest medical neighborhood and walk-in clinic in Edgeworth

A one-stop shopping concept and design, the medical site at 100 Hazel Lane in Edgeworth provides patients with the convenience of primary care access, as well as ambulatory and diagnostic services in one location.

"It's wonderful to be able to park outside, walk in, see your primary care physician, either on the first floor or second floor, and when that physician orders lab work or a radiology test or what have you, to go and get it right away, no appointment necessary," Norm Mitry, president and CEO of Heritage Valley Health System told a group that gathered to celebrate the opening.

Construction began in October 2011 on the building, with Esmark's global headquarters relocating earlier this year to the third floor. Heritage Valley later moved to the first and second floors and the new clinic began offering patients a variety of health care services in August.

James P. Bouchard, chairman and CEO of Esmark Inc., said Heritage Valley designed the first and second floors from top to bottom to fit their needs, and called it a pleasure to have Esmark's name associated with Heritage Valley.

Bouchard said he had a successful surgery about three weeks ago at Heritage Valley Sewickley hospital and has personally utilized the new medical facility, having his lab work done in 10 minutes.

"It's really a phenomenal addition to the community," Bouchard said. "I got a world class of care right here in this community."

Mitry said the neighborhood clinic joins Chippewa as one of its largest sites offering high quality, accessible healthcare.

Heritage Valley administrators and board members attended the open house as well as physicians operating out of the site's three Heritage Valley Medical Group offices. Attendees had a chance to tour the new facilities. Other medical neighborhood sites include Chippewa, Moon Township, Ellwood City and Robinson Township.
