Heritage Valley Sewickley Auxiliary to Host Annual Unique Boutique Saturday

The Heritage Valley Sewickley Auxiliary is presenting its 11th Annual Unique Boutique from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the , 511 East Drive.

Admission for shopping at the Unique Boutique is $10 each or $30 each for admission and lunch. The buffet lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and reservations are required and can be made by contacting Irene Dailey, director of volunteer and community services at 412-749-7052.

The Unique Boutique will feature 50 vendors, artisans marketing and selling their products, such as adult and children clothing, gourmet food, home andholiday décor, and jewelry and accessories.

A variety of distinctive gifts will be available including the following:

• B.I.B.S. – Baby Items By Sarah

B.I.B.S was created by Sarah Allman after her daughter, who was born nearly two months early in May of 2009, spent three weeks in the NICU. During those three weeks, Sarah was extremely touched by the preemie beanies that people would donate for those in the hospital to wear. In an effort to give back, Sarah spent the next months crocheting tiny beanies and by Easter of 2010 was able to donate nearly a beanie for every day her daughter was in the hospital. Her love for crocheting and children has since developed into B.I.B.S.

B.I.B.S offers a range of hand-made, crocheted items to include beanies for all occasions, gift sets, blankets, toddler purses, seasonal and specialty items, headbands, and of course...bibs.
Photography props are also available such as cocoons and diaper covers with matching beanies. Sarah has also recently introduced a new product line called florets which are small origami-type flowers to be used as hair clips. Custom orders are always welcomed.

• Trendy Trousseau, LLC

A privately owned company by Summer Wise, Trendy Troussea was established to create a location where all women can shop to find just the right stylish piece, accessory or handbag to complete her wardrobe. This trendy on-line apparel boutique services many styles and cuts for the fashion conscious woman. More and more lines are being added to the site each and every season to accommodate the many styles an individual needs in her day to day life. The stylish pieces that appear on the website and trunk shows are personally selected by Trendy Trousseau's fashionistas.

Each style and designer are chosen with care to make sure the Trendy Trousseau shopper is finding beautiful trendy styles that can be worn through all walks of life.

• Simply Whimsical 

Opened as an apron shop created by Kathy Williams, Simply Whimsical makes stylish aprons from designer fabrics for the everyday hostess. Other items include glamour gloves, dish towels pot pinchers and Little Lady Kitchen Kits (child’s apron, chef’s hat, mitt, cookie cutter, recipe, wooden spoon and a hair clip). Kathy wants today’s woman to have a beautiful and practical apron for everyday management.

• Little Inklings 

With the love of arts and crafts and love of wine tasting, founder Mimi Kernan
developed and started to sell her stemware jewelry in November 2002. This stemware jewelry (wine charm) was designed to wrap up the stem of the wine glass. It was very decorative and functionally, it would help the wine drinker remember which glass belonged to them. As the years followed, other items were developed. Wire and bead wrapped spreaders, serving pieces and gift sets, as well as ornament jewels, book floss and zipper pulls. The name Little Inklings was eventually chosen to describe her business of little ideas.

All proceeds from the Unique Boutique will be donated by the Auxiliary for renovations to the  Surgical Waiting Area. More than 6,000 surgical cases are performed at Heritage Valley Sewickley each year.

Renovations to the Heritage Valley Sewickley Surgical Waiting Area will begin early 2012 with the development of the architectural drawings. Through
renovation, the plan is to make this area more comfortable for visitors as they await information regarding their family member or significant other.

Improvements will include additional physician-family conference rooms to allow for private consultations, WiFi access, a patient tracker monitor as
well as updated and more comfortable furnishings. Construction is slated to begin in 2013.
