Open Your Heart to a Senior Holds Volunteer Orientations

Volunteers can help seniors live safely and independently in their own homes.

Open Your Heart to a Senior, which is committed to helping seniors live safely and independently in their own homes throughout Allegheny County, is looking for volunteers.

Many area seniors need friendly, caring volunteers to help with yard work, grocery shopping, providing transportation to a medical appointment, or just a friendly phone call or visit. Just one hour of your time, once a week or once a month can mean the world to a senior.

Volunteer orientations will be held on the following dates:

  • March 5 at 10:30 a.m., UPMC Lighthouse Pointe, 500 Chapel Harbor Dr., Fox Chapel.
  • March 6 at 6 p.m., Family Services of Western PA, 6401 Penn Ave., 2nd Floor, East Liberty.
  • March 9 at 1 p.m., Family Services of Western PA, 6401 Penn Ave., 2nd Floor, East Liberty.
  • March 19 at 9:30 a.m. – AGH Suburban General Hospital, 2nd Floor Cafeteria, 100 S. Jackson Ave., Bellevue.
