Patch Picks: The Best Local Summer Camps

Now's the time to enroll your kids in a local summer camp. Patch takes a look at great options to keep your kids busy this summer.

KinderCare offers 12 unique camps from May to August for children pre-school age through 12 years old.  Summer programs include themes such as Dig Ancient Egypt, Splish Splash, Art Expo and Animal Antics. Carnegie Science Center Camps

Summer science programs at the Carnegie Science Center on the North Shore will teach your child everything from robotics to astronomy and engineering to wizardry. This year, the center is offering Science Fun Days, where half-day camps are offered for children ages 4 and 5 and full and half-day camps are offered for children ages 6 and 7. Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium

Have your child answer the call of the wild at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium Summer Camps. Children ages 2 though 13 will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with exotic animals while using their creativity with various crafts and projects. Robert Morris University Summer Hockey Camps

This summer, the RMU Hockey Academy at the Island Sports Center is offering hockey camps to help young players improve and refine their skills to the next level of play.
