Safran's Plans Temporary Entrance During Road Work

Customers will be able to enter the lot from Beaver Street.

Customers headed to Safran’s will soon have another, temporary entrance to get inside the grocery store.

Sewickley's summer is set to begin soon on Walnut Street, where one of the store’s entrances is located.

But  Borough Manager Kevin Flannery said Walnut Street is going to have limited access once the work is started within the next week.

A Safran’s box truck has been relocated elsewhere on the lot and a section of fence along Beaver Street has been removed for the time being to give customers another point of entry "so everybody can get into the grocery store to get food," Flannery said.

Flannery said the borough planned to post signage for the temporary entrance. Drivers also will be permitted to leave and enter the parking lot near , but anyone exiting Green Street will only be permitted to make a right turn. will be on hand during the daytime to help control traffic.

Flannery said Safran's temporary entrance should be in use for about five to six weeks.

Shields Asphalt Paving Inc. is set to begin  first on Walnut Street, followed by Blackburn Road and Frederick Avenue, then sewer work on Church Way, before finishing with paving on that roadway. A complete renovation of curbs, catch basins and sidewalks is also planned for Walnut and Church Way.
