Walnut Street to Close in Sewickley for Site Work

Columbia Gas also plans asphalt repairs on Centennial Avenue from Academy Avenue to Grove Street.

Walnut Street will be closed at the end of the month from Route 65 while crews with Columbia Gas perform work in the area. 

Sewickley Manager Kevin Flannery said Columbia Gas will need a section of the Walnut Street to be closed beginning May 28 to May 31 while conducting work on Walnut.

The closing will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Frederick Avenue and Route 65, he said. The street will be open as usual otherwise.

Signs will be posted advising motorists of the closure.

Borough police will also be working a traffic detail during work hours.

The Port Authority of Allegheny County, Valley Ambulance, Quaker Valley School District, Allegheny County 911, and the Cochran Hose Fire Department will be notified.

In addition, Columbia Gas plans asphalt repairs on Thursday, May 16 on Centennial Avenue from Academy Avenue to Grove Street.
