Following President Barack Obama's announcement that Osama bin Laden was dead, the news was cause for celebration, but also a time to pause and reflect. We'll always remember the grief we felt when hijacked planes crashed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and on the ground in Shanksville nearly a decade ago.

Bin Laden was the mastermind behind the terrorist attacks, which made the al Qaeda leader a household name -- and the world’s most wanted man.
