Are You a 'Souper Chef?' If So, You Could Win Bragging Rights and More

Entries are still being accepted for the Sewickley 'Souper Chef Contest.' Think you have what it takes to win?

What do Andy Warhol, Tournesol, Cuisinart and the Sewickley Valley YMCA all have in common?

They are all part of the prize packages you could win as part of this year's Sewickley Souper Chef Contest. The cooking battle is set to commence on Saturday afternoon as part of the second annual Sewickley Soup Crawl.

If you think you have what it takes to win, it's not too late to enter and compete.

"We're looking for entrants and have some amazing prizes for the Souper Chef Contest," said Alex DeLoia of Village Green Partners.

DeLoia said the Andy Warhol package includes a super-soft screen printed T-shirt, a screen printed canvas tote, a glossy Warhol book, pins, an Andy Warhol print, and an Andy Warhol coloring book.

Other prizes include a tablecloth from Tournesol, a Cuisinart ceramic dutch oven, and a group membership for four to the Sewickley Valley YMCA. Winners also get bragging rights until next year. 

Judges are Sarah Sudar, Mandy McFadden and Laura Zorch, the bloggers from the EatPgh food blog and authors of The Food Lovers' Guide to Pittsburgh, along with Rhonda Schuldt from Local Goodness, and a representative of TABLE Magazine. 

Interested? Know that the contest begins at 2 p.m. and contestants will have time to prep their soups. All soups will be served to the judges by volunteers and each judge will receive approximately 1 1/2 ounces.  A microwave will be available for anyone who would like to reheat their soup. Winners are to be announced at 3 p.m.
