All-Day Singing from the Sacred Harp

The third annual Pittsburgh Regional All-Day Singing from the Sacred Harp will take place at the Franklin Park Baptist Church on Nicholson Road (near the Wexford exit of I-79).

Come join us in singing a cappella hymns in four-part harmony from The Sacred Harp, an early American shape-note hymnal.  Books will be available for loan or purchase. Some of these hymns are among the oldest music composed by English-speaking people in America.  This is a non-denominational, participatory event, not a performance. If you come, you will be encouraged to sing. The singing style is loud and vigorous. Pot-luck lunch served at 12:30 PM. Admission is free, though a free-will offering is requested.
