Machete Kisumontao Performance

This performance is part of Sweetwater’s 15th annual MAVUNO Festival of African American Art and Culture. Machete Kisumontao is a 6-piece Puerto Rican music band from Pittsburgh. Their true rustic sound of Afro-Caribbean rhythms capture the feelings of bomba, plena, criollo, nova-trova, reggae and salsa. Refreshments, wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

The MAVUNO Festival is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts; The Advancing Black Arts in PittsburghFund, a partnership of The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Heinz Endowments; a grant from Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour,a program developed and funded by The Heinz Endowments; the William Penn Foundation; the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, astate agency; The Pew Charitable Trusts; and administered by Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation.
