Miss Representation

The Sewickley Public Library of the Quaker Valley School District, in conjunction with Youth Connect, will host two screenings of Miss Representation, an award-winning documentary that confronts the insufficient, and often unfavorable, portrayals of females in the media. The film focuses on the detrimental effect these portrayals can have on the average woman's ability to feel powerful or be respected in a position of power.

Viewings will be held at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Aug. 2, in the library's community room. A brief discussion will follow. Both youth and adults are encouraged to participate. The film is rated TV-14.  read more
