Sewickley Series: "March Winds" with The Renaissance City Winds
Sewickley Academy is excited to announce the last Sewickley Series event of the 2011-12 school year. March Winds, a concert with The Renaissance City Winds, featuring Sewickley Academy student musicians and music originally composed by SA students, will takes place on Tuesday, March 13, at 7 pm in Rea Auditorium. This concert is the culminating event of a 10-day residency project of master classes for student instrumentalists and workshops with student composers.
The Renaissance City Winds is one of Pennsylvania's foremost chamber ensembles. Touring takes the group throughout the eastern U.S., with past appearances at the Kennedy Center, New York's famed Carnegie Recital Hall, and the Pennsylvania governor's home. The Renaissance City Winds has received awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, Chamber Music America, Meet the Composer, and the Aaron Copland Fund for Music.
A dessert reception will follow the concert in the lobby of Rea.
