When/Where: 5 p.m-9 p.m. Friday at , 405 Frederick Ave., Sewickley.

Why Go: Marching and concert band members will perform in various ensembles throughout the evening and have been working diligently on their music. The dinner includes pasta, meatballs, bread, salad, a beverage and dessert. All proceeds support the . 

Admission: $8 for adults, $6 for  and $5 for senior citizens in advance. Call 412-741-7708 for tickets.

 

When/Where: 4 p.m. Friday at Rooks East Side Saloon, 282 Fourth St., Ambridge.  

Why Go: Just because the premiere parties to screen the "One for the Money" film  at the Ambridge Theater doesn't mean you can't join in the Katherine Heigl mania afterward. Rooks will have  and prizes during an Ambridge Chamber of Commerce after-party.

Gallery Crawl in the Cultural District

When/Where: 5:30 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday throughout the Cultural District. 

Why Go:  Check out a showcase of art and entertainment in the heart of the Cultural District. Events take place at a variety of galleries and spaces and patrons may start at any location, from the Wood Street Galleries, 601 Wood St., to the Steel Curtain installation at 1035 Penn Ave. Sponsored by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. 

Admission: Free.

 

When/Where: 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday, , Sewickley.

Why Go:  Children ages 6 to 10 will enjoy this light-hearted workshop as they create beautiful, colorful paintings, evoked by sound. Listen to musical compositions from various music eras and genres and fill your canvas with spontaneous actions to create a masterpiece.

When/Where: 4:30 p.m. Saturday, in the  Middle/Senior school cafeteria. 

Why Go: The Diversity Student Association and various cultural clubs came up with various acts, cultural performances and food to share from cultures and countries throughout the world. Performances begin at 6 p.m. in Rea Auditorium. 

Admission: Free and open to the public.

 

When/Where: 5 p.m. Saturday at the Walter Robinson Post 450, 20 Chadwick St., Sewickley. 

Why Go: Help save the historic legion from bankruptcy while enjoying a home-cooked dinner at 6 p.m. and live entertainment with the Red Velvet Jazz Band until 9 p.m. The event also includes a cash bar and a Chinese auction. 

Admission: $25. Walk-ins are welcome and no reservations are necessary. Call 412-741-9928 for tickets in advance.

 

When/Where: Noon-2 p.m. Saturday at in Leetsdale.

Why Go: As part of Giant Eagle's grand reopening celebration, fans can get autographs and meet with Doug Davidson, who plays private investigator Paul Williams on the CBS soap opera "The Young and the Restless."

Why Go: Support the Crescent Fire Department as it hosts an "Eat Italian Buffet" at the event center. Dinner is being provided by Janice Catering.

Why Go: Families with kids ages 1-5 are invited to celebrate the 25th WWE Royal Rumble with a wrestling party. Make your own Rey Mysterio masks, stump each other with trivia, snack on wrestling-inspired snacks, place your wagers on tonight's winner, and have your very own Thumb Wrestling Rumble!

Why Go: Nishtha Jain's documentary explores her relationship with Lakshmi, a 21-year-old house maid in Mumbai who works 10 hours a day, seven days a week. The film will be followed by a  on how the ideas presented in the documentary challenge stereotypes.
