2. 59th Annual Clothesline & Used Book Sale
When/Where: 10 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 and Sunday, Sept. 23 in Means Gym at Sewickley Academy.
Why Go: Thousands of items of quality clothing for men, women, and children will be offered at bargain prices.
3. Sewickley 5K Heart and Sole
When/Where: 8:30 a.m. Saturday at War Memorial Park, Blackburn Road, Sewickley.
Why Go: Get the family together and enjoy this run/walk sponsored by Heritage Valley. because it's open to everyone. The course winds through the streets and neighborhoods of Sewickley, finishing at War Memorial Park.

4. MAVUNO Exhibition: Tending Our Mothers' Gardens
When/Where: All day Friday, Sept. 21 and Saturday, Sept. 22 at Sweetwater Center for The Arts.
Why Go: Catch an early glimpse of this exhibition. The works by several African-American women artists that demonstrate they are the inheritors of a distinctive heritage and are motivated to "pay it forward" in their artistic expressions.

5. SHHC Riding and Driving Party 2012
When/Where: 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at Sewickley Heights History Center, 1901 Glen Mitchell Road.
Why Go: Enjoy family fun and surprises. The day includes bar and dinner, live music, jumpers, dressage and other equestrian exhibitions, professionals and children on horseback, the Hunt and Hounds, whimsical circus acts, antique automobiles and carriages from the late 1890s and early 1900s. Rain or shine under a tent.
Admission: $75 for adults and $25 for children. Donations benefit the history center.
6. Autumn Fest-Treasures in the Park
When/Where: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at Henle Park, corner of Beaver and Ferry streets in Leetsdale.
Why Go: Sponsored by the Leetsdale Garden Club, the annual fundraiser includes crafters, artists, flea market tables, vendors, and more. Party Ponies and Farm Friends are returning, along with the 'Punkin Mumkin Patch.'
7. Not Your Usual Stuffy Concert--The Sequel'
When/Where: 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 at St. James Church.
Why Go: The Music Plus Concert Series begins the 2012-13 season at 3 p.m. Sunday withthe dynamic trio Anna Singer and Lou Valenzi, vocalists; and Donna Amato, assisting artist. A pre-concert begins at 2:30 p.m.
Admission: Free. Goodwill offering will be collected.
