'Idol' Contestant Deandre Brackensick Impresses the Judges

All three judges give the 17-year-old positive feedback.

The three judges gave  a standing ovation Wednesday night for his performance on Fox’s American Idol.

Jennifer Lopez said Brackensick of San Jose, CA, has one of the most special voices in the competition and that his song went straight to her heart.

“It is hands down something you don’t hear everyday,” she said, begging America to vote for the 17-year-old, whose .

This week, the show's remaining had the chance to work with music mentors Jimmy Iovine and Stevie Nicks. Brackensick chose to perform Eric Benet’s “Sometimes I Cry,” a song Nicks said was “really pretty” but suggested Brackensick slow down the tempo.

“It’s very had to pull those off beautifully when you’re in a hurry,” Nicks said.

Iovine warned it was especially important for the performance to come together because Bracksensick in last week's elimination round.

“He’s one of the guys in jeopardy here. All eyes are on him,” Iovine said.

Brackensick took their advice, slowed the song and used his range to hit high notes that impressed the judges. Steven Tyler told him the perfomance was beautiful, passionate and enough to “give Prince a run for his money.”

Randy Jackson, who has been critical in past weeks, also gave props, telling Brackensick he found his style.

“Guess who’s back in the house, Deandre!” he said.
