Sewickley 2013 Spring Gallery Walk: Paintings, Photography, Sculptures and More

Opening receptions are from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, followed by an extended opening to galleries from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Sewickley's annual 2013 Spring Gallery Walk is on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27 with opening receptions from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.

The gallery openings extend from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

St. James Parish —200 Walnut St.

"St. James Frames" presents more than 10 artists' works on display including paintings, photographs and sculpture in the St. James Gathering Space.

Included are works by an artist in physical rehabilitation and several young artists of the parish. Available for sale will be a 2014 calendar and stationary representing the artistic efforts of the children of St. James School.

Opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. in the church’s gathering space on Walnut Street.  Refreshments will be served. Art will be open for viewing until May 5. 

Sweetwater Center for the Arts — 200 Broad St.
Small Shrines is a national exhibition with works made in honor, dedication, or celebration of an individual person, place, thing or idea.

Iceland: A Photographic Paradise, a photography exhibition that encapsulates the geography of Iceland.

Art Blooms: Village Garden Club creates flower interpretations of the Small Shrines exhibit.

Sewickley Public Library — 500 Thorn St.
Pix and Pixels: Visions of Ireland, an exhibit of Robert Morris University photography students Nicole Easton, Gary Horstmann, Valerie Hogan, Patrick Ryan and Jennifer Schulze.

In May 2012, Christine Holtz, professor of media arts, accompanied photography students to Sneem, Ireland, a village of 400 on the Ring of Kerry in the southwest part of the country. While there, students were challenged to develop themes for their photography shoot with the goal of creating photo books. This is a collection of student works created while in Ireland.
