Sewickley Theater Project Could Receive Big Grant Next Week

The two-screen theater will cost $1.5 million to build.

The Village Theater Co. could receive a $350,000 grant from the state next week, according to the Tribune Review.

Project leaders are working to raise $1.5 million to build a two-screen movie theater that would show independent films and host educational events. So far they've raised $750,000, according to the report.

The decision on the grant application is expected to be made by the Commonwealth Finance Authority Board on July 10. They money would come from the state Gaming Economic Development Fund, according to the newspaper.
